Jadarat is a national platform empowering the workforce of Saudi Arabia. Jobseekers can use the Jadarat to explore and apply for both public and private sector jobs in the Saudi labour market. The main goals were to create product strategies, conduct workshops and integrate modern technologies, and approaches in the product development process.

Introduction

With the rapidly evolving labour market in Saudi Arabia, the need for an effective job search platform is paramount. Our team was engaged to develop a product strategy to meet the unique needs of both job seekers and employers in the region. This case study outlines the key steps taken to create a user-centred, innovative and competitive solution tailored to the local market.

This case study outlines the key steps taken to create a user-centred, innovative and competitive solution tailored to the local market.

Audit

The initial phase involved a comprehensive audit of the existing platform, assessing its usability, functionality, and overall user experience. Key performance indicators (KPIs) were analysed to identify places requiring improvement, such as user engagement rates, job application conversion rates, employer retention, time-to-hire metrics, and user satisfaction scores. A heuristic evaluation and usability tests helped uncover pain points and gaps in the platform’s design and user flow. The list of issues was presented and shared with a team.

User research

To build a user-driven strategy we conducted quantitative research. Interviews were organized to gather insights from job seekers and employers. We segmented people by age, gender, work experience, and type of companies (public, private and semi-government). Also, they were separated by experience in Jadarta and without. This research provided valuable data on user behaviours, expectations, and challenges in the Saudi job market.

Design System

We developed a new design system for the Jadarat team. This system includes design principles, tokens, general components, typography, and a color palette in both dark and light themes. It aligns with the brand identity while enhancing accessibility and usability. We created a scalable design system to ensure consistency across different platforms. All of this was provided as a library that can be reused by various teams.

Concepts introduced enhancements such as a new homepage, streamlined application processes, pipeline with applicants personalized user dashboards etc. The integration of AI technologies for personalized job matching, prescreening, interview suggestions, and job descriptions was also prioritized.
